I don’t like it when writers break the fourth wall.
I find it jarring and unwelcome in any medium.
I find that I don’t have any interest in reading about how intimidating a blank page is to me.
I don’t care for my anxiety about having to pick up a pen.
Especially when it becomes evident that this is your thing.
If you’re not telling stories about yourself and your life, you have no business being in your creation. I’ve become jaded towards the tool and unless you’re super imaginative or a really good word-smith, of which I am neither, it’s only going to put me off.
So I try not to do it.
